Running Shoes Made From Marine Debris

Just as we pass earth day 2017, adidas has taken steps towards reducing plastic pollution in our oceans by releasing new sneaker models woven from marine plastic debris. These new running shoes are a part of a partnership with Parley for the Oceans, an organization dedicated to bringing creatives together to recognize and address major threats towards our oceans. The new ultraBOOST running shoes will repurpose on average 11 found plastic bottles per pair. The outer of the shoe will contain up to 95% Parley intercepted plastic marine debris, transforming the plastic into workable thread. The laces, heel webbing, and lining, and sock liner covers will also all be from recycled Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) material.
